Penelope

Type: Domestic short hair—York, PA

Age: young adult, approx. 1 year + small

Color: silver tabby with brindle/orange coat

Personality:

Penelope was a kitten dumped outside along with her brother and had to grow up fast. She is a wary but will come to the distinctive sound of the opening of a can of wet food and is warming up fairly quickly. Penelope was a teen mom who had a litter of 2 younger tabby kittens. She had a second litter of 4, red/white, black/white, and 2 mixed orange and brindle. She is a good mom; all 6 kittens are playful bundles of feline fun. She was very stoic about her trip to the SPCA. Penelope is a good hunter and could be a pet cat with a little attention or a barn cat.

Consider adopting Penelope. She does not deserve a death sentence due to dumping and irresponsibility.

Health: spayed, rabies shot (York SPCA vet paperwork)

Atlas

Type: Domestic Short Hair

Color: Black

Age: 2

Personality: Atlas is a 2 year old pure black DSH. He's shy at first (it took me 4 days to get close to him when I adopted him), but once he has time to adjust he's the most loving cat in the world. He's constantly purring, rubbing up against you, and laying on your lap. I originally adopted Atlas at the end of March as a companion for my older cat, Devereaux. His old owner was unable to afford to keep him anymore. Unfortunately, my older cat is far too anxious around him and when they get close Devereaux becomes aggressive. When he smacks Atlas, Atlas will smack back and I haven't been able to fully integrate him into the house due to the risk of fighting. It's unfair to keep Atlas contained in two rooms, and him being here is causing my older boy quite a lot of stress so I had to make the hard decision to rehome him. He was around another cat successfully in the past according to his old owner, so he might be able to pair up with the right cat, however just in case I want to say that he isn't good with other cats. He's never been around dogs, so I'm unable to say how well he would do with them. His old owner was an older man who had his relatives, including a young granddaughter, get along wonderfully with him so likely any person would be a good fit for Atlas. Atlas absolutely adores playing with his cat dancer toy, his stuffed snake, and springs. He's also an avid bird and people-watcher if he has a window he can perch on. He's completely up to date on his shots and was last seen at the vets in either the end of April or the beginning of May. When he came to me, he had chronic ear infections which have since been defeated. The only thing he may need is an occasional ear cleaning to remove any wax build up, which he's tolerant of. He is FIV and feline leukemia negative. Atlas is not declawed, however he's been perfect about not scratching furniture. He's much more interested in sisal rope wrapped toys and cardboard. Atlas will come with a large litter box, a litter box mat that he's slightly scratched up, a Litter Genie, a food dish, a powered water fountain, his favorite scratching boards, and many toys. His vet records will be provided as well.

Health: Healthy, neutered, FIV/FelV Negative, vaccinated

Precious & Kenneth

Type: Domestic Short Hair

Color: Tabby/Orange

Age: Precious-1.5 yrs old / Kenneth-4 months old

Personality:

Precious was a one and one-half year old female I found in Progress, Susquehanna Township in February, 2018.  I was shocked at how social Precious was and how she is not afraid of the vacuum which leads me to wonder if she was someone's cat that just got out.  I took Precious to the vet only to find out she was pregnant, and I didn't have the heart to put her back outside.  Her kittens were born on March 31, 2018; only one of 5 survived.  Precious and her surviving daughter, Kenneth, are up to date on their shots and flea medicine.  Precious is spayed and Kenneth is scheduled to be spayed July 24, 2018.

Precious is very affectionate; you can kiss her and pick her up, she loves people and children and will greet you at the door.  Kenneth is, of course, a playful kitten.

Precious DOES NOT care for any animals other than Kenneth, which is why I must place them since I have other animals.  Because I cannot unsee the Mother/Daughter bond between them, I would prefer to place them together.

Health: Healthy, spayed, FIV/FelV Negative, vaccinated
