(Now known as Miley) 12-29-2011 Hi Kris! It's funny that you sent me an email today....I was thinking about you on my way to work this morning!! Thank you for the Christmas card. The picture below is from about a month ago. Miley is great!! We all love her to pieces!! I call her my fur baby & Will is my real baby. Will laughs when I say that. She just loves being near us, especially at night cuddling beside us on the couch. We went to Petsmart last week to get her a rain coat & sweater. She's not fond of that store....she gets nervous & shakes & wants Mike or I to hold her. I still think she has fears that we're going to leave her. After I tried a few sweaters on her, she relaxed a bit & started sniffing around the store. She loves going in the car for visits to my sister's & parent's houses. My parents laugh how she follows me everywhere!! They said we should have named her Shadow. Last night we were visiting my parents & she was so comfy on their sofa, she didn't want to get up & leave w/ us. That was a first! My mom loved it....she would totally keep her (but she's MY dog!) Mike walks her twice a day...not terribly long walks, mostly just around the block, but she enjoys it. How are your dogs? Are you fostering any dogs right now? I hope you had a Merry Christmas! Stella - Amazingly adorable lap cat!

12/21/11 - Nicki (formerly Stella) is doing great, and she is a joy to have around. She settled in very well almost immediately. The litter box is in the basement, and she had no problem finding her way down there to use it. She stays down there if I am away, but when I am home she has the run of the house, although she has been hanging out with me pretty much all the time. She has been very well-behaved; she lies under the Christmas tree but has never disturbed any of the ornaments, which really surprised me! I have tried to get her to sleep in a cat bed, but so far she is having nothing to do with it. She has already found a chair that she prefers (when she is not lying on my lap) and when I put the cat bed on "her" chair, she pulls it off and drags it under the dining room table. I had her at the vet today, and they gave her a clean bill of health. She received her second distemper shot, and she is good to go for another year. Thanks for asking about her. I am sure you miss her a lot, but I promise to take good care of her! I think Castaway Critters is a wonderful organization, and I am very impressed with the work you do. Merry Christmas! Rose

Catherine - Lovable Maine Coon Mix

11/14/11 - Hi, I was cleaning up my e-mail accounts in preparation for a new “system” and came across your address. I think of you often and just thought I would drop you a note. It will be seven months tomorrow that Catherine and I have been together and I just wanted to let you know that I am desperately, hopelessly in love with this cat! She has brought such joy to my life and filled a huge void I never knew I had! She spends her days sitting on the windowsills gazing out at the city 12 floors below, so much so that I was worried it would be too cold for her come winter, so I bought a carpeted window perch for her comfort and pleasure. My friends and family get a kick out of the fact that I have truly become a cat person, could sit and watch her do nothing for hours. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again for bringing us together and know that we look forward to many more years together! P.S. NEVER had a litter box accident! Take care. Patsy
