Pebbles is six years old and weighs about 15 lbs., and is a darling dog. However, she is a special-needs Shih Tzu with temperment issues. As you can see, she lost an eye about a year ago. Given her background, she struggles with trusting people and tends to bite when she doesn't feel safe. Once adjusted, she adores "her person" and is both protective and loyal. Pebbles must be an "only child" where there is no competition for love or attention. No other animals and no children. She is housebroken, loves to go "bye-bye" and watch TV, and plays contentedly with her squeaky toys much of the time. Pebbles is somewhat difficult to handle. She will snap at her caregiver if she feels threatened or annoyed. She will go after other animals...both dogs and cats. If the dog stands up to her she will back down...if not, she will fight. She requires daily medication for her skin allergies and her anxieties. Her Fur-ever home will require someone who understands her fears and is willing to let her find her way with them. She will only take a certain amount of attention and then she is done and wants to be left alone. When on the sofa, you cannot reach out to her or she will bite.
